Degree Total 70 Hours Programs of Study Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology The Surgical Technology program is designed to deliver the educational foundation for students to earn an Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology degree. The minimum expectation is to prepare entry-level Surgical Technologists who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession. This 12-month hybrid program requires an additional program application and acceptance. The program includes didactic, lab, and clinical instruction methods. Upon successful completion of the required courses and clinical case requirements, the students will sit for the certification exam offered through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Upon passing the certification exam, graduates will be recognized as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
