PHRM 124 — Inventory Control and Financial issues in
Pharmacy Credit Hours: 3 Prerequisite: MATH 061 with a grade of C or higher or equivalent placement score. Course will provide a study of the Course Descriptions pharmacy technician’s role in inventory systems, including order placement, returns and handling of expired medications. Course will provide a review of insurance reimbursement and contracting, the role of pharmacy benefit managers (PBM), prior authorization (PA), worker’s compensation programs, coupons, discount cards and patient financial assistance programs. Offered Spring only.
