HIT 215 — Principles of Health Care Reimbursement
Credit Hours: 3 Prerequisites: ENGL 070 with a grade of C or higher or equivalent placement scores and HIT 206 with a grade of C or higher. Course provides an understanding of the various payment systems and how reimbursement affects providers, payers, consumers, and policy makers. Explanation will be given of the managed care, commercial insurance, and government sponsored payment systems. The student will compare and contrast systems and how to use related resources for accurate reimbursement. Offered Fall and Spring.
