DMS 122 — Sonography Principles and Instrumentation II

Credit Hours: 3 Prerequisite: DMS 120 with a grade of C or higher or consent of program director. Continuation of DMS 120. Comprehensive instruction on acoustic physics, Doppler ultrasound principles, hemodynamics, and ultrasound instrumentation. Bioeffects, safety and the interactions between ultrasound and tissues will be presented. Quality assurance, quality improvement and sonography department protocols will also be covered. This course will include Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) registry review material and mock exams. Offered Spring only.
