DMS 102 — Patient Care and Health Care Communication
Credit Hours: 2 Prerequisite: Acceptance to the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Entry level patient care, professionalism and critical thinking skills utilized in the daily responsibilities of an imaging professional are presented in preparation for student clinical rotations. Best practice verbal and nonverbal communication skills within the health care setting are introduced. Students will learn ergonomic ultrasound imaging and patient transfer techniques. Standard precautions and infection control measures are taught. Offered Fall only.
