Credit Hours: 2 Prerequisite: Acceptance to the Dental Hygiene program. Course presents an introduction to the supporting structures of the teeth, pathogenesis, histopathology, and therapeutic treatment of periodontal disease. Recognition, prevention, treatment, and maintenance of periodontal disease and health is examined as these concepts relate to the role of the dental hygienist. Offered Spring only.
