CJ 124 — Drugs, Society, and Criminal Justice

Credit Hours: 3 Prerequisite: None. Designed to provide an overview of the relationship between drugs and crime as well as the response of the criminal justice system to illegal drug use. Course includes: current U.S. drug abuse trends and patterns; review of the history of drug abuse and legal attempts to control such abuse; exploration of the physiological, psychological and sociological effects of common abused drugs; and a discussion of the connections between drug abuse and crime. Offered Fall and Spring.
