NURS1213 — Adult Health Nursing I
3 Credit Hour(s) This course utilizes the nursing process in promoting the adult client’s adaptation to internal and external stressors as it relates to the promotion and maintenance of health. Emphasis is placed upon meeting the adult client’s basic needs. Physiological, psychosocial, pathophysiological, and health teaching aspects of client care in acute health care environments are explored. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills are used to promote the client’s adaptive responses to the interruption of health. This is a half semester course. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
