INET2034 — Plant Layout and Materials Handling
3 Credit Hour(s) This course is a practical study of facilities planning with emphasis on the most efficient arrangement of work areas to achieve the lowest production costs. Topics covered are equipment location, material handling, automatic storage and retrieval, bar coding, capital requirements, personnel organization, and safety. Computer-aided design problems are performed and utilization of advanced CAD techniques is emphasized. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
