EMSP1801 — Fundamentals of Paramedic I
8 Credit Hour(s) This course is the first of two fundamental lecture courses in the Paramedic program. Course topics include the following: paramedic roles and responsibilities, workforce safety, wellness, public health, communications, documentation, EMS operations, medical/legal considerations, anatomy and physiology, life span development, general pathophysiology, general pharmacology, patient assessment, critical thinking, airway management, respiratory emergencies and introduction to cardiology. Students should check course recommendations with the college or university to which they intend to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. The receiving institution always makes the final decision about transferability of credits.
