REL 140 — Religion in the United States
This course introduces the student to the role of religion in the history and culture of the United States The course will look at major events in the history of the United States, considering the roles that religious groups and ideas played in those events Additionally, the course will trace the development of uniquely American religious groups and movements, concentrating on how they developed and how they have contributed to the larger culture In an effort to give a historical and religious background to current events, guided discussions will be a part of the course
