TA 102 — PLAY ANALYSIS FOR PERFORMANCE, PRODUCTION, AND APPRECIATION
Introduces and explores an extensive methodology of reading and understanding play scripts from a variety of genres and styles so as to encourage appreciation and enjoyment of dramatic literature. Investigates a play's structure using analytical techniques to determine the tools with which playwright creates dramatic art: plot, character, language, and imagery. Develops the techniques of script analysis in order to facilitate critical, cultural, and social analysis as well as encourage its practical uses for the practicing theatre actor, director, and designer.[D; CSU; UC; C-ID THTR 114]
