JPN 101 — BEGINNING JAPANESE I

Introduces Japanese, both spoken and written. Emphasizes grammar, pronunciation, idiomatic expressions, hiragana, and katakana. Includes relationship between language and culture, and oral-aural drills will be stressed. Equivalent to two years of high school Japanese.
