<strong>THIS IS A NONCREDIT COURSE</strong> This class is an introduction to the language used by the adult deaf population in the United States. Students will get an overview of the culture of deafness and deaf education along with the career possibilities in this field. In addition, students will learn a sign vocabulary of approximately 400 signs with their meaning and concepts. Emphasis is on vocabulary building and expressive and receptive skill building. Students will be using the language of sign to express their own thoughts.
