ECED1475 — Professional In-Home Care

This course provides students with the essential knowledge and practical skills to establish and manage high-quality in-home child care environments. Designed for aspiring child care providers, the curriculum incorporates child development knowledge, safety standards, daily routines, and responsive caregiving in a home-based setting serving children birth-school age. Students will explore topics such as age-appropriate activities, health, safety and nutrition, environmental design, family communication, and state/local regulatory requirements for home child care licensing. Basic business fundamentals including budgeting, marketing, and record keeping essential for a professional in-home child care program are also included. This course is a Location: L Classroom
