WELD 1264 — PIPE WELDING I
The course covers the practical application of SMAW Pipe Welding. The student will use SMAW equipment and make welds in compliance with AWS codes on carbon steel pipe. This course will use Level Three of the NCCER book. The student will make welds in 1g, 2g, 5g, 6g welds on 6-inch pipe using SMAW. The student will learn how to prep carbon for welding, apply pipe angles, make various Return to Table of Contents Page | 248 pipe fits, and use cutting procedures for pipe. Upon completion of this course the student is required to pass at least one AWS 6g weld test using SMAW. Please see attached calendar for schedule.
