NUR 1521C - Mental Health Nursing Add to Catalog Portfolio NUR 1521C - Mental Health Nursing This course explores normal and psychopathological deviations of self care. Emphasis is placed on the ways that patients achieve restoration of psychological and emotional self care through counseling modalities, group dynamics, and psychopharmacologic agents. The roles of the nurse in promoting optimal psychosocial human functioning are analyzed. Clinical learning experiences will occur in hospital and in community settings. Effective application of the nursing process in meeting psychosocial human needs when caring for individuals across the life span with alterations of mental health is emphasized.
