MATH 102 — INTERMEDIATE ALGEBRA – 5 Units
Prerequisite: Basic Algebra as determined by multiple measures , or Math Placement Level 3 or higher Advisory: Eligibility to enroll in a transfer level English Composition course, or English Placement Level 6 or higher. Class Hours: 90 lecture total (when offered in the distance education format, hours will total 270) This course prepares the student to take a baccalaureate-level general education mathematics course. Topics covered include equations and functions of the following types: quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, rational, and radical. The course also covers systems of linear equations and inequalities in two variables and quadratic inequalities in one variable. Applied problems are encountered throughout the course. This course may be offered in a distance education format.
