RESP 2343 — – Neonatal & Pediatrics
This course is designed to integrate theory and clinical simulation instruction for the practice of respiratory care in the neonatal, infant, and pediatric populations. The student will focus on the physiologic basic assessment, initiating, monitoring, and managing oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, CPAP and mechanical ventilation in the neonatal pediatric population. Students will receive certification in the Newborn Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced life support (PALS). Hours: 32 Lecture Hours, 16 Lab Hours Prerequisite(s): RESP 2451, RESP 2354 and RESP 2322, all with a grade of “C” or better Corequisite(s): RESP 2242, RESP 2311, RESP 2312, RESP 2365 and RESP 2462 Offered: Fall
