Page 125 Provides a nursing process approach to disorders affecting the digestive, respiratory, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, lymphatic, and sensory body systems. Etiologies, diagnostics, signs, symptoms, treatment, and nursing care are covered. Pharmacology and nutrition are also incorporated with each unit. Students participate in the actual nursing care of assigned clients. Emphasis is placed on professionalism, communication, and nursing skills. Clinical experience in management in the long-term care setting including delegation, in addition to the care of medical surgical, geriatric, and mentally ill clients will be provided. A grade of "C" or better is required for passing.
