ELEC 1034 — – Industrial Motor Controls
This course covers the fundamentals of DC motors, single phase AC motors, and three-phase motors. The course will also address control devices such as motor starters, contactors, relays solenoids, sensors, timers, and switches. Included are maintenance, installation, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting. Mechanical and electrical assembly of control circuits is accomplished without the use of hand tools. This class uses the Control of Industrial Motors Training Systems which forms complete instructional programs that train students in industrial-motor control through the use of block, wiring, and schematic diagrams. This course will incorporate a variety of teaching and learning methods: lectures, readings, lab exercises, and lab work.
