CHM111 — Chemistry Theory and Principles with Analysis I

Add to My SC4 Catalog A primary emphasis is placed on fundamental chemical concepts and problem solving. Topics of measurement, number analysis, nomenclature, atomic and molecular modeling, reaction stoichiometry, states of matter and solution chemistry are considered. The laboratory is directed toward development and improvement of fundamental techniques, collection of data, analysis of these data, drawing conclusions, and communication of information to others. This course is designed for science majors, particularly for those in the physical science disciplines. Previous chemistry experience (high school, CHM 101 or equivalent) is required. Prerequisite(s): MTH 1010 , MTH 1011 , or MTH 1020 or higher and high school chemistry or equivalent 5 credits plus 2 = 4 lecture, 3 laboratory
