NURS 4235 - Nursing Care III: Maternal Newborn NURS 4235 - Nursing Care III: Maternal Newborn Principles of reproductive, maternal, and newborn nursing are introduced. The course focuses on maternal-childbearing care and experiences, and care of the newborn. Students collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary health care team to develop family-centered nursing plans of care. The campus laboratory setting, as well as hospital and outpatient settings, provides opportunities for integration of theory to practice (5 credit hours are divided into 3 credit hours lecture and 2 credit hours of clinical learning experiences, which is a 1:3 ratio, or 6 clinical /week [90 total clinical ]). The course includes one 0.5-hour recitation per week. Spring, fall.
