ART 1001C - Art Fundamentals ART 1001C - Art Fundamentals This course is designed principally for non-art majors and focuses on the development of students as aware, educated members of the arts audience. No prior experience in art is required. Through a survey of basic media in a studio environment, students will acquire a working knowledge of fundamental principles of visual art and familiarize themselves with the basic vocabulary necessary to communicate their creative process and thinking. Art Fundamentals exposes students to a variety of visual arts disciplines including design, drawing, collage and painting (sculpture is included when time permits) including selections from the Western canon. Students will engage in extensive communication about and oral presentations on the principles of design, style and varieties of content across varied artistic media.
