SPAN9012 — Noncredit Spanish for Medical Professions II
Units: 0 Hours: 54 hours LEC Grade Options: Pass/No Pass Term Typically Every spring term Advisories: SPAN 1 or SPAN 2 with a minimum grade of “C”. This noncredit course is the continuation of SPA for Medical Professions I, intended for students in the health and medical professions who seek to develop Spanish language proficiency for professional communication within clinical settings. Emphasis is placed on the acquisition of specialized vocabulary and the practice of situational dialogues relevant to triage, physical examinations, and emergency responses. Students will demonstrate competency across all language domains—listening, speaking, reading, and writing-at a mid-advanced level, in accordance with the proficiency standards established by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). Noncredit courses may be repeated.
