ELEC80 — Fundamentals of Solar Photovoltaic Systems

Units: 3 Hours: 36 hours LEC; 54 hours LAB Grade Options: Letter Grade This course is an introduction to solar photovoltaic (PV) concepts, applications, and the solar energy industry. It includes basics of electricity, load estimation, energy efficiency, solar site surveying, PV system components, sizing, financial analysis, design, installation concepts, and maintenance. It also introduces industry organizations such as the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) and industry examination requirements.
