COMM12 — Introduction to Persuasion
Units: 3 Hours: 54 hours LEC Grade Options: Letter Grade General Education: Delta Area 1B Term Typically Every odd spring term ” Introduction to Persuasion will examine historical and contemporary approaches to persuasive messages throughout time. This course develops critical thinking and argumentative writing using various rhetorical theories. It will also focus on the presentation of persuasive appeals, and learning to construct, deliver, and critique persuasive messages. Emphasis and analysis on persuasive theories and concepts, logical reasoning, evaluation of evidence, and the development of ethical persuasive messages. (UC, CSU, C-ID COMM 190)
