CAT21 — Agricultural Welding

Units: 2 Hours: 18 hours LEC; 54 hours LAB Grade Options: Letter Grade Term Typically Every fall term Limitations on Enrollment: Admission into the Associate Degree Caterpillar Technician Program. Student is a registered State indentured apprentice. This course is designed to introduce the techniques used in the construction and repair of agricultural equipment. The student uses arc welders and oxy-acetylene torches for fusion welding, heating, brazing, cutting, and hardsurfacing metals. Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding are emphasized. Since CAT 21 and AGEGR 21 are cross listed courses, credit may be awarded for either CAT 21 or AGEGR 21 but not both.
