MDLT1442 — Clinical Chemistry 2
MDLT 1442 - Clinical Chemistry 2 MDLT 1442 - Clinical Chemistry 2 4 Credits This course covers the continued study of various chemicals in plasma/serum that are routinely analyzed to contribute to patient care. The physiology, test methodology and clinical correlations of proteins, enzymes, electrolytes, lipids, acid/base balance, and endocrinology are discussed. The course also includes a brief overview of therapeutic drug monitoring and toxicology. Instrumentation principles/methodologies found in modern clinical chemistry laboratories and concepts that are basic to the operation and maintenance of automated laboratory instruments are covered. Students will test patient samples and quality control material using a variety of automated analyzers. Students will use a laboratory information system to order tests and report results. 4C/1/3/0 Co-requisite(s): MDLT 1453 Learning Lab 3
