ECON 1720 - Macroeconomics ECON 1720 - Macroeconomics 3 Credits Macroeconomics is a social science that studies how our society can achieve economic goals of full employment, price stability, economic growth, and stable balance of trade. Students will examine protectionism, components of GDP, economic growth, the business cycle and the federal budget. In addition fiscal and monetary policies are defined and examined in terms of the effects those policies have on economic performance and the business cycle. 3C/3/0/0 Prerequisite(s): READ 0721 or READ 0724 or EAPP 0860 with a grade of “C” or better or appropriate assessment score Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) Goal Area(s): Goals 5 & 8
