CHIN 1720 - Beginning Chinese 2 CHIN 1720 - Beginning Chinese 2 5 Credits As the second part of the Accelerated Modern Chinese course series, this course is designed for heritage speakers of Chinese or those who have completed CHIN 1710 at Saint Paul College. The purpose of this course is to students improve their ability in listening, speaking, reading, and writing Chinese. It particularly aims to students develop more sophisticated vocabulary and enhance reading and writing ability in Chinese. As with CHIN 1710 , the course consists of five hours per week of instruction and in-class discussion, homework, tape assignments and online practice. 5C/5/0/0 Prerequisite(s): CHIN 1710 with a grade of “C” or better or instructor approval Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) Goal Area(s): Goal 8
