MUS 224 - Aural Skills IV MUS 224 - Aural Skills IV 1 Credit(s) ) ) Course Description: Aural Skills IV is a continuation of MUS 116 and serves to augment the subject matter in MUS 211 with an emphasis on musical aural/oral training. Students develop their ability to hear, identify, and sing intervallic, tertial, melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic patterns in music. Through in-class study and drill, combined with out-of-class computer-assisted learning and self-guided practice, students will develop skills in sight singing and aural transcription with a focus on dominant and non-dominant seventh chords in all positions, leading tone seventh chords in root position, and perceiving tonicization and modulation in chord progressions and melodies. This course is designed to be taken with MUS 211 concurrently. Course Learning
