EMS 271 - Paramedic Care and Practice I EMS 271 - Paramedic Care and Practice I 9 Credit(s) This is a special admission course and requires the completion of an application process before admission. Covers patient assessment, advanced pathophysiology, airway management, general pharmacology, respiratory emergencies, intravenous (IV) therapy, obstetrics, and pediatrics. Lab and simulated emergency scene experiences will develop students’ abilities to recognize and treat the symptoms of illness and injury. Includes hands-on assessment and utilizes Basic and Advanced Life Support equipment to apply the concepts learned. It also develops skills and abilities in managing emergency medical scenes, coordinating resources, and delegating tasks as appropriate. Course Learning
