HSR-203 — Diversity and Cultural Humility in Human Services
This course examines how race, gender, class, ability, and other social identities shape client experiences and practitioner perspectives. Emphasizing cultural humility over cultural competence, the course highlights the importance of ongoing self-reflection and awareness of power dynamics in the helping profession. Students will learn about building trust, trauma-informed care, and ethical engagement with diverse communities.
