ECE-100 — Introduction to Early Childhood Education

This course overviews early childhood education as a profession with an emphasis on developmentally appropriate practices, professionalism, and historical foundations of early education. Students study program models, various types of early childhood programs, community resources, the family's role in education, diversity, as well as contemporary trends and issues in programs for children ages birth through eight. Students must complete fifteen (15) hours of field experience to successfully complete the course.
