AVM-162 — Reciprocating Engines

This course covers the study of reciprocating engines by theory and practical methods. Students will disassemble an aircraft piston engine, visually and dimensionally inspect the internal components, identify all parts not meeting the manufacturers specifications, and reassemble the engine to operational standards. In addition, students will perform inspection and maintenance procedures such as cylinder compression tests, engine removal and installation, and the operation of aircraft engines.
