NUR 23804 - Med Surg III/Peds II, Part II NUR 23804 - Med Surg III/Peds II, Part II This course introduces nursing students to the roles and responsibilities of the associate degree registered nurse in caring for adult patients across various healthcare settings. The medical-surgical theory component focuses on providing nursing care to adult patients with renal and genitourinary conditions, burns, trauma, and emergency medicine needs. Growth and developmental concepts are further explored, with a special emphasis on the care of older adults. Throughout the course, students will continue to apply the nursing process, Clinical Judgment Measurement Model (CJMM), communication and collaboration skills, use of technology, teaching-learning strategies, and legal and ethical principles supported by evidence-based practice. The clinical component provides students with hands-on experience in acute care settings, where they will integrate theoretical knowledge with practice to deliver nursing care to adult and pediatric patients.
