MAP 201 - Diagnostic and Procedural Coding MAP 201 - Diagnostic and Procedural Coding 5 Total Credits The purpose of this course is to give students practice applying the official coding guidelines to complex documentation in medical records. Students will assign both diagnosis codes and procedure codes to complex case studies focusing on correct code assignment, sequencing and official guidelines. The uses and formats of health information are explored, and examples are provided to illustrate the use of the health record as the basis for clinical code selection and reporting. Course
