CHEM 3B — Introductory Organic and Biological Chemistry
This course provides students with an introduction to the basic concepts of organic and biochemistry. The structures, behaviors, and functions of small organic molecules and biomolecules are evaluated; common classes of organic compounds, organized according to functional group, are explored first, followed by properties of important biological compounds such as carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins. This course is relevant for some students seeking careers in health related professions.
