Health Information Technology Program Highlights

Health Information Technician (HIT) graduates are in high demand across the United States. As an HIT, you will become an essential member of the health information management profession. As a specialist in health information, your position may include analyzing, securing, and maintaining patient health information. You may also choose to specialize in areas such as quality assurance, computer information services, tumor registries, or release of medical information. Some technicians are responsible for coding diagnoses and procedures for reimbursement; others concentrate on areas that monitor compliance with patient data privacy rights and other ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements.
