WEL123 — Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Basic)
(3 Credits) Lecture: 2 hours per week Laboratory: 3 hours per week Teaches operation of AC and DC power sources, welding polarities, heats and electrodes for use in joining various metal alloys by the arc welding process. Deals with running beads, butt, and fillet welds in all positions. Emphasizes safety procedures. An additional career and technical education course-specific fee of $25.00 per credit hour applies to this course. The price is discounted 50% to $12.50 per credit hour for the 2026-27 academic year only. (Course fees do not apply to dual enrollment CTE courses taught at local high schools.)
