(3 Credits) Lecture: 2 hours Laboratory: 3 hours Total: 5 hours per week Teaches care of older patients with emphasis on the social, emotional, and spiritual needs. Covers procedures; communication and interpersonal relations; observation, charting and reporting; safety and infection control; anatomy and physiology; personal care, nutrition and patient feeding; death and dying. May include laboratory or clinical hours. An additional career and technical education course specific fee of $50.00 per credit hour applies to this course. The price is discounted 50% to $25.00 per credit hour for the 2026-27 academic year only. (Course fees do not apply to dual enrollment CTE courses taught at local high schools).
