EGR251 — Basic Electric Circuits I

Course ID 134233 Teaches fundamentals of electric circuits. Includes circuit quantities of charge, current, potential, power, and energy. Teaches resistive circuit analysis; network theorems; and RC and RL circuit transient response with constant forcing functions. Teaches AC steady-state analysis, power, three-phase circuits. Presents frequency domain analysis, resonance, Fourier series, inductively coupled circuits, Laplace transform applications, and circuit transfer functions. Introduces problem solving using computers. An additional career and technical education course specific fee of $25.00 per credit hour applies to this course. The price is discounted 50% to $12.50 per credit hour for the 2026-27 academic year only. Lecture 3 hours per week.
