Lecture Hour(s): 3 Formerly HIT 261 This course covers basic computer system architecture, file structure, and design for health care settings. Topics include system analysis, design, security, and selection for a variety of hardware environments. This course provides students with a review of computer fundamentals and the fundamentals of the electronic health record and an introduction to the information systems life cycle with software application. Security and confidentiality issues, concerns and implications in relation to the electronic health record will be addressed.
