This course introduces the basic concepts needed to be an apprentice backcountry guide or outfitter. Learning basic safety and preparedness, e-scouting, client relations and campsite essentials, COURSE NUMBER COURSE TITLE CREDIT HOURS students will be prepared to find apprenticeships in the western big game outfitting industry. Students should be prepared for overnight excursions in the backcountry. This will involve hiking and backpacking. Emphasis will be placed on the basic principles of “leave no trace” and environmental awareness.
