WLD110 — Material Handling & Plant Layout
This course covers three major topics: 1) Students will begin learning the details involved in effective shop design and workflow. Business visitations will allow students to see first-hand how shops are laid out. 2) Shop management will be discussed: equipment repairs, facility maintenance, and record keeping required to run a manufacturing business. 3) Students will also learn safe material handling procedures. Operation of a forklift will be practiced while maneuvering around obstacles. Class will be completed with a forklift driving certification test.
