3 , 3 lecture periods 0 lab periods Methods for teaching, assessing, and remediating learners with reading difficulties. Includes research-based instructional strategies for delivering differentiated reading instruction, assessment, intervention, and remediation to support readers of varying ages and ability levels, including students with dyslexia. Also includes intensifying and individualizing instruction in phonological processing, phonics, spelling, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Recommendation: Completion of EDC 422 before enrolling in this course. Information: Education department approval is required before enrolling in this course. This course fulfills the “Literacy” (Part B) component of the Arizona K-5 Literacy Endorsement.
