Covers enterprise network design, VLANs, Spanning-Tree Protocol (STP), inter-VLAN routing, Multilayer Switching (MLS), Cisco Express Forwarding (CEF), and Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP). Securing the switched network model, including setting passwords, local and remote login, modifying default privilege levels, and applying Layer 3 traffic management techniques to the enterprise network. Very detailed information regarding the role of switches in multicasting. Emphasis toward preparing for the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP R&S SWITCH) examination. Total of 54 hours lecture and 72 hours laboratory.
