89.3 (Public Radio East) Curriculum and Continuing Education classes cancelled because of adverse weather, natural disasters, emergencies, or other unanticipated causes will be rescheduled or made up by another alternative. Alternatives may include extra class sessions, extended class sessions, individual conferences, or other options approved by the College’s administration. The alternative(s) chosen may be affected by the duration of the closure, the point at which the closure occurs in the academic term, or other factors, but the College will make every effort to make up missed classes. College Closures The President or his/her designee will decide as to whether or not classes will be held during periods of inclement weather or because of other unusual circumstances. Announcements will be made on local radio, television stations, the College website, Facebook, and through a specially maintained telephone extension. Local radio and television stations will be notified as soon as a decision is made. Cell Phone Use Students should turn off their cell phones prior to entering class. Cell phones cannot be used for any purpose at any time during class. Students may not leave to take a phone call without prior permission from the instructor. Failure to comply with this could result in the dismissal of the student from class, incurring an absence. In emergency situations, exception to this rule may be granted by the instructor.
