WELD1006 — Introduction to Welding

Students will learn to use the SMAW process to complete fillet welds, as well as open root groove welds, in all positions. We will cover safety precautions and procedures, when to use particular electrodes, and basic blueprint and WPS reading. Students will also learn to set up welding machines, oxy-acetylene torch, and how to safely and efficiently process material. As an end goal, students shall be able to meet AWS D1.1 standards.
